Tell Congress: Oppose Section 5 of Chairman Shuster’s Amendment to H.R. 4

The big airlines are pushing for a manager’s amendment, introduced by Rep. Bill Shuster (R-PA) to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization bill (H.R. 4) that would create the Aerospace Management Advisory Council that would oversee air traffic control. This board of private stakeholders would be independent of the FAA and the legislative process, and would give significant power over our system to the big airlines, allowing them make decisions that would hurt smaller airports and communities without public oversight.

The House will consider H.R. 4 tomorrow, so please contact Congress now and let them know you are opposed to creation of the Aerospace Management Advisory Council in Section 5 of the manager’s amendment.
