WHEREAS: The state of Kentucky and Hardin County has a significant interes in the health of General aviation, aircraft manufacturing, educational institutions and aviation organizations which employs more than 1,374, and has an economic impact of $1.746 billion on the state of Kentucky; and
WHEREAS: Given our state and region’s geography, a great many businesses and communities depend upon General Aviation aircraft and small aircraft of all types for access to medical treatment mobility, economic opportunity, disaster relief and a wide range of critical resources. Moreover, use of General Aviation by businesses is an invaluable tool for companies in Hardin County to support their operations; and
WHEREAS: The Commonwealth of Kentucky and the COunty of Hardin takes pride in the role it plays in generating jobs, and economic acticity through its aviation community including its local airport and FBOS, whihc are vital engines of growth in the economic framework of our state.
THEREFORE: I, Harry L. Berry, Judge/Executive of Hardin County in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, do hereby proclaim General Aviation as a vital local resource and strategically important member of our community. As such, we urge our statewide and federal officials to pursue economic, aviation modernization, security, environmental and other policies that will continue to support our General aviation community and allow it to prosper.
