    WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Columbus, Ohio has the responsibility to honor outstanding achievements by members of our community; and

    WHEREAS, the City of Columbus has a significant interest in the continued vitality of General Aviation, Aerospace, aircraft manufacturing, educational institutions and aviation organizations airports; and

    WHEREAS: The total employment impact of all airports in Ohio is 142,800 jobs with an annual payroll of nearly $3.2 billion. Ohio’s 98 general aviation system airports support a payroll of nearly $287.3 million. The total direct and induced impact was 17,352 jobs and $498.0 million in payroll; and

    WHEREAS, Organizations like the Ohio Aviation Association, the Alliance for Aviation Across America, National Businesses Aviation Association, National Association of State Aviation Officials, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and National Air Transportation Association recognize the promote the interests and importance of aviation in Ohio and throughout the world; and

    WHEREAS, As citizens of Columbus, we are pleased to honor and recognize General Aviation as a positive community partner and asset within our community.

    NOW, THEREFORE, I, Michael B. Coleman, Mayor of the City of Columbus, Ohio, do hereby recognize December 2014 as

    General Aviation Appreciation Month

    and urge all members of our community to join in recognition of this significant occasion and the achievements above mentioned.
