Be it resolved bu the City Council, City of Stuttgart, a resolution supporting long term United States Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration funding for the FAA Airport Improvement Program (AIP).
A Resolution authorizing the Mayor of the City of Stuttgart to provide a certified copy of this resolution to the Arkansas Congressional Delegation on behalf of the City of Stuttgart and the Municipal Airport supporting the AIP program and requesting long term funding for airport improvements.
Whereas, the Stuttgart City Council has determined that aviation plays a critical role in the lives of our citizens, as well as in the operation of our local businesses and farms.
Whereas, Given our geography, a great many Grand Prairie area businesses depend upon General Aviation (GA) aircraft and all types for accerss to medical treatment, mobility, economic opportunity, disaster relief and a wide range of critical resources. Use of GA aircraft by businesses and farms is directly linked to the future growth and economic prosperity to the citizens of Stuttgart and to the grand Prairie from funding from the AIP program.
Therefore,m be it resolved that the City Council of Stuttgart hereby supports long term AIP funding and continued support for the future growth of aviation as described herin.
