OFFICE OF THE MAYOR
Whereas, general aviation and community airports play a critical role in everyday life life for citizens, businesses, industries and government agencies; and
Whereas, the state of Missouri has a significant interest in the continued vitality of general aviation, aircraft manufacturing, aviation organizations and community airports and airport operators;
Whereas, Missouri’s general aviation airports provide 7,449 jobs in Missouri, and airport systems support 100,621 jobs with an estimated annual payroll of $3.1 billion; and
Whereas, general aviation plays a vital role in the State’s response to emergencies and natural disaster, and
Whereas, many communities in Missouri depend heavily on general aviation and community airports for the continued flow of commerce, tourists, and visitors to our state and
Whereas, Branson and Ozark Mountain Country are fortunate to have several options available for general aviation, the closest being Branson Airport, Springfield/Branson National Airport, M. Graham Clark Downtown Airport and the Branson West Municipal Airport. These airports provide a vital service to our region and we are proud of the excellent customer service they deliver to our citizens, businesses and visitors.
Now therefore, I, Karen Best, Mayor of City of Branson, Missouri, I call upon our citizens to recognize the impact and promote general aviation in our community and do hereby proclaim the month of April in Branson, Missouri as
GENERAL AVIATION APPRECIATION MONTH
