Whereas, general aviation and community airports play a critical role in everyday life for citizens, businesses, industries and government agencies
Whereas, the state of Missouri has a significant interest in the continued vitality of general aviation aircraft manufacturing, aviation organizations and community airports and airport operators;
Whereas, Missouri’s general aviation airports provide 7,449 jobs in Missouri, with an estimated payroll of $3.1 million; and
Whereas, general aviation plays a vital role in the State’s response to emergencies and natural disasters, and
Whereas, many communities in Missouri depend heavily on general aviation and community airports for the continued flow of commerce, tourists, and visitors to our state and
Whereas, Branson and Ozark Mountain Country are fortunate to have several options available for general aviation, the closest being Branson Airport, Springfield/Branson National Airport, M. Graham Clark Downtown Airport and the Branson West Municipal Airport. These airports provide a vital service to our region and we are proud of the excellent customer service they deliver to our citizens, businesses and visitors.
Now Therefore, be it Resolved that I, Raeanne Presley, Mayor of the City of Branson, Missouri, do hereby proclaim April as
“GENERAL AVIATION APPRECIATION MONTH”
In Branson, and I call upon our citizens to celebrate and promote general aviation month in our community.
