STATE OF OKLAHOMA
Whereas, general aviation and airports play critical roles in the lives of our citizens, as well as in the operation of our businesses and farms; and
Whereas, the state of Oklahoma has a significant interest in the continued vitality of general aviation, aircraft manufacturing, aviation educational institutions, aviation organizations and airports; and
Whereas, many communities in Oklahoma depend heavily on their airports and general aviation for the continued flow of commerce, tourism and essential services; and
Whereas, general aviation is vital to many Oklahoma businesses that depend on it to increase productivity, reach far-off markets, and to move personnel, equipment and products; and
Whereas, general aviation in Oklahoma contributes more than $1.2 billion to our state’s economy annually; and
Whereas, general aviation also improves our citizen’s quality of life by providing critical services such as healthcare services, law enforcement, firefighting, and disaster relief services; and
Now, Therefore, I, Mary Fallin, Governor, do hereby proclaim March 2015, as
“Aviation Appreciation Month”
in the state of Oklahoma.
