    ARIZONA AVIATION DAY

    WHEREAS, an efficent and reliable aviation system is a critical element of Arizona’s overall transportation system and the vitality of our State’s economy; and

    WHEREAS, Arizona is home to 58 publicly owned airports, 14 Native American airports and 11 privately owned airports, which serve 17,986 license pilots and 6,561 general aviation aircraft based in Arizona; and

    WHEREAS, the aviation industry has an estimated $58 billion annual impact on Arizona’s economy and plays a vital role in the State’s response to emergencies and natural disasters; and

    WHEREAS, the State of Arizona has a significant intere in the continued vitality of general aviation, aerospace, aircraft manufacturing, education institutions, aviation organizations, community airports and operators.

    NOW, THEREFORE, I, Janice K. Brewer, Governor of the State of Arizona, do hereby proclaim January 15, 2013 as

    ARIZONA AVIATION DAY

    IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the STate of Arizona
