The Alliance Commends Mayor Bennett for Declaring April ‘General Aviation Appreciation Month’
Washington, DC – Today, the Alliance for Aviation Across America commended Mayor Duke Bennett of Terre Haute, IN, for proclaiming April “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” In Indiana, general aviation airports support an economic impact of $1.4 billion annually.
“Mayor Bennett’s proclamation helps highlight the economic benefits and valuable service that general aviation provides to Terre Haute,” said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “We sincerely thank the mayor and the city for recognizing this vital industry.”
The proclamation not only cites the economic impact of general aviation and local airports like the Terre Haute Regional Airport but also the importance of investing in this infrastructure to encourage enthusiasm in flying and grow the next generation of pilots and aviation professionals, as well as to encourage future growth through investments in sustainability.
