The Alliance Commends the Mono County Board of Supervisors for Declaring March ‘General Aviation Appreciation Month’
Washington, DC – Today, the Alliance for Aviation Across America commended the Board of Supervisors of Mono County, CA, for proclaiming March “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” In California, general aviation airports support an economic impact of $32.7 billion annually.
“The Board’s proclamation helps highlight the economic benefits and valuable service that general aviation provides to the County of Mono,” said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “We sincerely thank the mayor and the city for recognizing this vital industry.”
The proclamation not only cites the economic impact of general aviation and local airports like Bryant Field and the Lee Vining Airport but also the importance of investing in this infrastructure to encourage enthusiasm in flying and grow the next generation of pilots and aviation professionals, as well as to encourage future growth through investments in sustainability.
