Governor Tomblin Declares October “General Aviation Appreciation Month”

Washington, DC – The Alliance for Aviation Across America today applauded Governor Earl Ray Tomblin for declaring October 2016 “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” In West Virginia, general aviation contributes over $1 billion to the state’s total economic output annually.

“General aviation supports businesses of all sizes in West Virginia, helping businesses and farms to transport supplies and products, reach new customers, and connect communities with critical services,” explained Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “We thank the Governor for his proclamation and look forward to working with him in the future.”

    According to the proclamation:

“The use of general aviation by businesses and farms in West Virginia is directly tied to the future growth and prosperity of the State.”
