Governor Matthew Bevin Declares July “General Aviation Month”

Washington, DC – The Alliance for Aviation Across America today thanked Governor Matthew Bevin for declaring July 2016 “General Aviation Month.” In Kentucky, general aviation contributes over $1.6 billion to the state’s total economy.

“Many businesses and communities in Kentucky rely on general aviation to support economic growth,” said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “General aviation supports agriculture, emergency services, law enforcement, and firefighting. We thank Governor Bevin for the proclamation and for recognizing general aviation’s important role in the Commonwealth.”

    According to the proclamation:

“A great many businesses and communities in Kentucky depend upon general aviation aircraft and small aircraft of all types for mobility, access to medical treatment, economic opportunity, disaster relief and a wide range of critical resources.”
