    The Alliance for Aviation Across America Commends Governor Hassan for Declaring March ‘General Aviation Appreciation Month’

    Washington, DC – The Alliance for Aviation Across America today commended Governor Hassan for proclaiming March “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” General aviation in New Hampshire has a total economic output of over $1 billion annually.

    “In small communities throughout New Hampshire, general aviation and community airports provide a vital link to the region and the country,” said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “We thank Governor Hassan for bringing attention to general aviation through this month’s proclamation.”

    “In an increasingly competitive environment, companies of all sizes use businesses aviation for on-demand connectivity to smaller markets, often where access to commercial flights is limited, to transport tools and personnel, and to visit multiple locations in one day,” explained Ed Bolen, President and CEO of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA). “We applaud Governor Hassan for her proclamation and look forward to working with her on issues critical to general aviation, including business aviation.”

    “General aviation connects communities in New Hampshire, inspires young enthusiasts and supports important medical and disaster relief activity,” said Jack Pelton, Chairman and CEO of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). “We appreciate this proclamation and thank the Governor for bringing awareness to general aviation.”

    Greg Principato, President and CEO of that National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) stated, “General aviation airports and aircraft represents a key component of the state’s overall transportation infrastructure. We thank Governor Hassan and Director of the Division of Aeronautics, Patrick Herlihy, for their work in supporting general aviation and community airports throughout New Hampshire.”

    “General aviation businesses and airports support highly-skilled jobs and link New Hampshire communities to vital services, driving local economies,” stated Thomas L. Hendricks, President and CEO of the National Air Transportation Association. “NATA and our member companies in New Hampshire thank Governor Hassan for recognizing the importance of general aviation to the state.”

    “In New Hampshire and across the country, general aviation aircraft, especially helicopters, support businesses with on-demand needs, medical and emergency services, firefighting and law enforcement,” Matthew Zuccaro, President and CEO of the Helicopter Association International (HAI). “We thank Governor Hassan for supporting this critical service in New Hampshire.”
