Washington, DC—The Alliance for Aviation Across America applauded West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin for declaring October 2015  “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” The proclamation highlights the important role of general aviation in West Virginia, where it supports over 23,300 jobs and contributes over $616 million to the state’s economy annually.

“We thank Governor Tomblin for recognizing the importance of general aviation to the state of West Virginia,” said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “General aviation is a significant economic driver in the state, where it helps businesses thrive and supports law enforcement, disaster response, and many other critical services.”
