Washington, DC – The Alliance for Aviation Across America today commended Governor Rick Snyder for proclaiming September “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” In Michigan, general aviation supports over 23,300 jobs and contributes $4 billion to the state’s total economic output.

“We thank Governor Snyder for this proclamation, which recognizes the importance of general aviation to the state of Michigan, as well as its rich aviation history,” said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “General aviation is a significant economic driver in the state, where it helps businesses thrive and supports law enforcement, disaster response, and many other critical services.”
