    The Alliance Commends Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. for Declaring August 17 – 23 ‘General Aviation Week’

    Washington, DC – The Alliance for Aviation Across America today commended Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. of Charleston, South Carolina for proclaiming August 17 – 23 “General Aviation Week.” In South Carolina, general aviation contributes over $417 million to the state’s economy.

    “Mayor Riley’s proclamation helps highlight the economic benefits and valuable service that general aviation provides to Charleston and the state of South Carolina,” said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “We sincerely thank the Mayor and the city of Charleston for recognizing this vital industry.”

    Formed in 2007, the Alliance for Aviation Across America is a non-profit, non-partisan coalition of more than 6,300 individuals representing businesses, agricultural groups, FBO’s, small airports, elected officials, charitable organizations, and leading business and aviation groups that support the interest of the general aviation community across various public policy issues.
