Alliance Applauds the House Passage of FAA Reauthorization Bill (H.R. 658)

Washington, DC: Today, the Alliance for Aviation Across America released the following statement in response to passage last week of FAA Reauthorization legislation in the United States House of Representatives:

“We applaud Members of the U.S. House of Representatives for passing an FAA Reauthorization bill that provides critically-needed funding for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and modernization of our air traffic control system.

“As members of the House and Senate look to reconcile differences in this legislation, we hope that they will keep in mind the critical importance of small airports as a lifeline to many communities across the country for a host of important resources and services. These airports and general aviation support 1.2 million jobs and $150 billion in economic impact around the nation and provide small and rural communities with crucial resources, including law enforcement services, medical care, and disaster relief.

“We look forward to working with Members of Congress and the Administration on these and all issues important to small towns and rural communities around the country that depend on general aviation and small airports.”

Formed in 2007, the Alliance for Aviation Across America is a non-profit, non-partisan coalition of over 5,700 individuals representing businesses, agricultural groups, FBO’s, small airports, elected officials, charitable organizations, and leading business and aviation groups that support the interest of the general aviation community across various public policy issues.
