SEA Prime, a leading business aviation airport operator in Italy and Europe, has announced the first refueling at Milano Linate Prime airport of “Jet A1 + Eni-SAF”, produced by Eni through a co-feeding process, co-feeding conventional production plants with UCO shares equal to 0.5%.
The bio share present in the product allows a typical reduction of GHG, compared to the feedstock used, of more than 90% compared to the reference standard of the fossil mix, according to the Renewable Energy Directive II.
Milan Linate Prime became the first Italian business aviation airport, and one of the first in Europe, to offer SAF, contributing to the decarbonisation process of the global business aviation sector and in line with the strategy of the company and the SEA Group.
It is SEA Prime’s objective to make the supply of SAF widely available to all business aviation operators in Milano Prime starting from the next few months.
This objective is part of the SEA Group’s strategy for sustainability, which was recognized with the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) 4+ “Transition” certification from ACI Europe for the reduction of direct and indirect emissions of CO2 in airports.
The most recent actions implemented by the SEA Group, such as the replacement of passenger shuttles and operational vehicles with new electric vehicles and the future construction at Malpensa of a first green hydrogen plant that will be built thanks to European Community funds (OLGA project), characterize the strategies of the Milan airports of Linate and Malpensa towards achieving the Net Zero goal by 2030.
The recent agreement with Skyports, world leader in the design and management of vertiports, for the construction of a platform for electric aircraft suitable for urban mobility is also a further step in this direction.
