  • Washington, DC –  The Alliance for Aviation Across America today applauded Governor Scott Walker for declaring July 24 30 Aviation Week. In Wisconsin, general aviation airports contribute more than $694 million to the states economy annually.

General aviation and our network of local airports is an important asset for Wisconsins farms, businesses, and communities, linking them to economic opportunities and critical services like emergency medicine, law enforcement, and firefighting, said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. We thank Governor Walker for his continued support of general aviation and local airports in the state.

This week, the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) looks forward to hosting AirVenture Oshkosh 2017, the worlds greatest aviation celebration, held annually in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Every year, visitor spending from EAA AirVenture Oshkosh generates nearly $110 million in economic impact, said Jack Pelton, Chairman and CEO of the Experimental Aircraft Association. General aviation strengthens communities, engages and inspires youth, and serves as a pastime for many Americans.
