  • Tri-State Airport Authority has received a grant of nearly $1.3 million from the Federal Aviation Administration for improvements to the Tri-State Airport.

The $1,298,017 grant will be used to rehabilitate the airport’s aprons, which will improve commercial, cargo and general aviation services, according to a release from U.S. Rep. Evan Jenkins, R-W.Va.

“We are extremely delighted to learn of our FAA grant offer for $1.3 million to rehabilitate our commercial, general aviation and cargo aprons,” Tri-State Airport Director Jerry Brienza said in a release. “We are fortunate in West Virginia to have knowledgeable legislators like Congressman Jenkins who recognize the importance of maintaining the aviation infrastructure throughout the state.

“It is also commendable that our FAA airports district office and the FAA regional offices continue to support aviation growth and prosperity throughout the state,” Brienza added.
