  • Washington, DC – Today, the Alliance for Aviation Across America applauded passage of H.R. 4741 by the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate last Thursday, March 17th. This also followed the mark-up and approval by the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation this past week of a bill, S. 2658, to reauthorize the FAA through September of 2017.

In response, the Alliance released the following statement.

“We applaud the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate for passing a short-term extension that continues funding for the Federal Aviation Administration through July of this year We were also encouraged that the U.S. Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee passed a reauthorization bill which protects long-term funding of the FAA so that important infrastructure projects can move forward, helps to increases investment in important programs such as the Airport Improvement Program (AIP), and protects the interests of consumers, airports and communities of all sizes by retaining Congressional oversight of our air transportation system.

“We look forward to working with Congress on issues impacting general aviation, local airports and the communities that depend on them.”
