  • Chippewa Valley Regional Airport has been awarded $2.1 million to reconstruct Taxiway C and build general aviation hangar taxi lanes.

Gov. Scott Walker recently approved the project, which releases $105,047 in state funds, an amount that will be matched by the airport. The Federal Aviation Administration will contribute $1.89 million toward the project.

Construction is scheduled to begin in April and be completed by December.
Paula Groom, airport development engineer with the state Department of Transportation, said in a news release that the project will improve the useful life of Taxiway C. The construction of general aviation taxi lanes will provide access for future hangar development.

The airport is one of 98 facilities included in the Wisconsin State Airport System Plan 2030, which makes it eligible for state and federal funding.
