  • Charter College has partnered with Reno-Tahoe Helicopters, Carson Aviation Academy and other Part 141 flight schools, to help aspiring pilots take to the skies with training. The flight schools will offer ground school and general flight instruction, and Charter College will provide students with the aviation and general education courses to prepare them to earn their FAA licenses and seek entry-level employment as commercial pilots or flight instructors.

Reno-Tahoe Helicopter is based at the Minden-Tahoe Airport. With a flight school located at 4,723 feet, Reno Tahoe Helicopters specializes in mountain flight training. This form of advanced pilot training teaches candidates how to deal with the challenges of high-density altitude operations, including power management, reduced performance, and limited access to suitable landing.

Carson Aviation Academy is an FAA Part 141 flight academy in Carson City. Students experience 1-to-1 training with an experienced flight instructor, as well as flight simulators. The robust, structured training program combines fundamentals with experience and practice, and offers additional seminars on new digital technology, including online and mobile computing.
