The Porterville Municipal Airport will be busy Saturday with the semi-annual Young Eagles Flight program that offers airplane rides to young people.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. Flights begin at 9 a.m. and end at noon.
The program is for youths ages 8-18. In prior years, as many as 130 young people experienced the thrill of flying when 11 pilots donated their time and gas to provide the opportunity.
The Young Eagles Flight program is free for youths and is sanctioned by the Experimental Aircraft Association.
Each child must have a parent or legal guardian present to register prior to the flight. An adult friend will not suffice.
The flights are insured and each child will receive a certificate.
The Porterville Chapter of the EAA meets the first Saturday of the month at Porterville Airport at 9 a.m. For more information, call Liz Raya at 359-2393.
