  • Granite Construction Co., one of the nation’s largest heavy civil contractors and construction materials producers, has begun work at the Reno Tahoe International Airport. Once complete, the project will provide an improved taxiway for large general aviation aircraft.

Granite will reconstruct and reposition Taxiway C and perform reconstruction on connectors. The project will include demolition and removal of the existing Vehicle Service Road, subgrade preparation, placement of an aggregate base, Portland Cement Concrete and Hot Mix Asphalt, as well as electrical and signage improvements. A new junction structure for storm drainage will be added.

Construction is estimated at $8.3 million and is scheduled to be completed in January.
