  • Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, announced Tuesday that Miami University’s airport will receive more than $44,000 for efficiency and improvements.

The $44,110 award is issued by the Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration and will fund a wildlife hazard assessment, as well as the rehabilitation of 8,095 square yards of the existing apron.

“Support for community airports is key to the safety of travelers and the flow of commerce,” said Brown. “This award will provide the resources to make needed improvements that will protect wildlife and benefit those that rely on the local airport and its services.”
