  • KIRKSVILLE, MO. — A new position is now open at the Kirksville Regional Airport.

City Council members voted to approve a resolution in order to create the position at their meeting Monday night. That position would be an airport foreman, and was created to help Airport Director Glenn Balliew who has recently taken on the position as Kirksville Public Works Director as well.

The airport foreman would be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the airport and supervising three operators. Once the foreman position is filled, the airport will also be looking to hire a new operator.

“It’s a pretty good position to have. You don’t really need a lot of aviation experience to have that, we will train you. We just look for someone who has the right qualifications and willing to learn and work hard. So, everybody should pay attention and looking for that,” Balliew said.

Balliew will continue to write the federal grants in order to help with funding different improvement projects at the airport in his role as airport director.
