  • VIENNA, Ohio (WKBN) –  Winner Aviation officials said the company needs to expand and is looking to the Western Reserve Port Authority to help do that.

The company, which currently has operations at the Youngstown Warren Regional Airport terminal, is looking to construct a new two-level fixed based operation connected to Hangar 1 and refurbish Hangar 1 as part of a $4.2 million project.

Winner is asking the Port Authority to finance the project, which could bring in more jobs to the area. Company president Neil Gallagher said over 50 percent of their business is aircraft maintenance for jets.

“We need extra space for that and we certainly need new facilities for that. It is going to attract our future customers that would bring us some of their jet aircraft,” Gallagher said.

Winner Aviation plans to meet with the board over the next month about the plan. If it is approved, Winner could be in its new facility in the next 18 months.
