Nolan Finley’s Jan. 28 Editor’s Note, “Dump Detroit City Airport,” unfortunately missed a few key facts about Detroit City Airport.
The notion that this airport just caters to a narrow demographic of fliers is flat wrong, and I am a prime example. I have used this airport many times for business use — my dental supply distribution business requires travel all across the Midwest, and flying my own airplane is the most efficient and productive way for me to do business. In addition to traveling quickly and directly to where I need to be, I can travel with specialized x-ray and other imaging equipment, which would not be an option on a commercial flight.
