General Aviation Deliveries Rise in Q3

  • Total worldwide deliveries of general aviation aircraft increased in the third quarter to 1,678, up 5.7 percent year over year.

    Total billings for those deliveries also increased, up 4 percent to $16 billion.

    According to a new report from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association, deliveries of piston aircraft and business jets increased 9.2 percent and 9.3 percent respectively year over year.

    Turboprop aircraft, meanwhile, declined 3.7 percent.

    GAMA’s records show that the Wichita-based Textron Aviation division of Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) had 113 deliveries in the quarter, including 33 Citation business jets, and 45 Beechcraft Corp. aircraft.

    Bombardier Inc., meanwhile, delivered eight of its Wichita-built Learjets during that same time.
