  • With the facility’s main tenant expanding it’s size and staff and a successful restaurant operating on its’ grounds, the manager of St. Louis Regional Airport in Bethalto is touting the economic impact the facility has on the region. David Miller says West Star Aviation has opened a new 40,000 square foot hanger and added 40 jobs in the last few months.

He says watching them work is unbelievable.

Miller says there is still one misconception he’d like to clear up, however. He says the airport continues to pump more money into the coffers of the community but that is not a result of higher taxes. Miller says the airport collects about half as much in property taxes as local libraries.
