On Dec. 11, 2013, Aeroplex Aviation in partnership with Signature Flight Support will host a holiday fundraiser at Long Beach Airport (LGB) to benefit Veterans Airlift Command, a nonprofit organization that provides free air transportation to wounded warriors, veterans and their families for medical and other compassionate purposes through a national network of volunteer aircraft owners and pilots.
More than 300 representatives of the airport community, local business leaders, aviation enthusiasts and public officials, including members of the Long Beach Airport Commission, will attend the holiday party and charity raffle featuring a variety of gift items, including scenic flights over Southern California. Aeroplex Aviation and Signature Flight Support have pledged to donate any funds needed to reach the $3,000 fundraising goal.
“We’re bringing the airport community together to honor the brave men and women in uniform who have sacrificed all to protect our nation’s freedoms,” said Aeroplex/Aerolease Group President and CEO Curt Castagna. “Our support will help give something back to wounded soldiers and their families who are struggling and in need of care, especially during the holiday season.”
