  • INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Air traffic controllers are predicting serious travel delays in Indianapolis due to Federal Aviation Administration furloughs.

There are 47,000 agency employees – nearly 15,000 air traffic controllers – will lose one day of work every other week.

The industry is predicting “nightmarish” flight delays and cancellations ranging from a few minutes to three and a half hours during peak times.

Airline trade groups and the pilots union have filed suit against the FAA to try to stop the furloughs.

It’s not expected to head to court for at least another week.
