PHOENIX — The so-called ‘sequestration’ is one week away and it threatens to shut down four Arizona air-traffic control facilities.

The Federal Aviation Administration on Friday said Glendale Municipal, Phoenix Goodyear, Laughlin/Bullhead City International Airports and Ryan Field Tucson are among 100 air-traffic control facilities that will be closed if Congress and President Obama can’t come to an agreement to stop massive budget cuts.

Shutdowns would begin in April. The White House warned that impending spending cuts would cause delays in air travel.

The FAA also plans to cut overnight shifts at 60 airports nationwide. None of those in Arizona.
