  • SIERRA VISTA — The 19th annual Sierra Vista Municipal Airport Fly-In and Open House will take place on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Sierra Vista Municipal Airport.

Sponsored by the City of Sierra Vista and the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), Local Chapter 776, the goal of the event is to introduce aviation to children and to promote general aviation activities available at the Sierra Vista Municipal Airport.

The EAA will also be cooking up a Mexican and pancake breakfast. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under the age of 12. In addition to the great food, there will be interesting aircraft displays and free flights for the kids with parental/guardian’s signed permission slips.

To date more than 4,400 children have flown with Sierra Vista EAA Young Eagle Pilots, which offer children between ages 8 and 17 years an opportunity to fly in a private airplane.

The Sierra Vista Municipal Airport is located three miles north of the Buffalo Soldier Trail and Fry Boulevard intersection (Fort Huachuca Main Gate), on the west side of Hwy. 90 at 2100 Airport Drive.
