Proclamation
Whereas, The state of New York and the County of Westchester have a significant investment in the health of the aviation industry and its economic impact in the region surrounding the Westchester County Airport, and;
WHEREAS: Westchester County Airport is home to over 80 businesses, sustains 1,300 jobs and provides a total of $649 million in economic impact, and;
WHEREAS: Westchester County Airport and the operators located there provide our businesses and residents with a wide array of air travel options and access to numerous destinations and markets, and;
WHEREAS: Westchester County Airport has become a national leader in environmental management and sustainability.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERT P. ASTORINO, COUNTY EXECUTIVE OF WESTCHESTER COUNTY, do hereby Proclaim Westchester county Airport as a vital local resource and strategically important member of our community, As such, I urge our local, state and federal officials to pursue economic, aviation modernization, security, environmental and other policies that will continue to support our local aviation infrastructure and allow it to prosper.
