  • Maine became the 38th state to officially recognize the importance of general aviation on a local and national level today.

National aviation organizations applauded Governor LePage for declaring April “General Aviation Appreciation Month.”

Across the state, general aviation airports have an annual economic output of $521 million.

General aviation plays a significant role in the state’s economy with 68 airports and over 2,600 pilots, by keeping communities connected and supporting local businesses.

LePage’s proclamation recognizes the value of general aviation not only to state and national economy but the services it provides Maine’s small communities.
