DOT Secretary Ray LaHood said that the pending FAA reauthorization bill is on the list of items that President Obama hopes Congress will enact before the end of this year.

LaHood and Sen. Richard Durbin (D-Ill.) spoke about the legislation with AAAE Senior Executive Vice President Todd Hauptli, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley and Chicago Aviation Commissioner Rosemarie Andolino prior to the start of this week’s AAAE/Chicago Department of Aviation’s Airports Going Green Conference in Chicago.

Durbin expressed uncertainty regarding whether the bill would be concluded during this Congress. During the discussion, Daley underscored the importance of a PFC increase as part of the final reauthorization package.
