Volunteers fly first responders to emergency scenes

  • Disaster Air Response Teams (DARTS) was established to safely and efficiently transport emergency first responders to scenes of back country rescues, wildfires and more. The organization is comprised of civilian and ex-military pilots, volunteering their time and skills to serve their communities during a time of local, state or national disasters. According to their website, DARTS has contacts with organizations such as Mountain Rescue, FEMA, Red Cross, and Urban Rescue teams to name a few. On occasion certain disasters require specialist who may not be located nearby. With DARTS the difficulty posed by travel within vast regions can quickly be addressed, ensuring greater success.
