As the oil spill continues so do efforts to protect the local wildlife

  • Pilots are teaming up with biologists to search for and rescue oil covered birds and other wildlife in the oil-stricken Gulf of Mexico. The flight crews use Emergency Medical Service Aviations FLEET automated tracking to help coordinate their rescue efforts with the US Fish and Wildlife. This innovative operation displays a practical non-traditional use of aviation technology for an important cause.
